Dear Parents/Guardians,

Can you believe the school year is quickly drawing to a conclusion? Please keep your eyes peeled and check your child’s backpack each day. Teachers will be sending information home regarding the end of the year activities in the coming weeks.

I must say that April was a very busy, but productive month for us! We enjoyed our visit with the DeSoto Middle School Honor Society students at New Horizons. The children had a blast celebrating Easter festivities. Thank you DMS for taking the time to visit with our students! We look forward to you all coming back soon!

The Third Quarter Reports went home and I must say, our students have shown some awesome improvements this quarter. The Tooth Fairy came and shared some valuable information with our students about oral health. Parents, please ask your child about her visit!!

We have planned some fun activities for our students in May as well. All parents of VPK students are invited to a Make and Take activity on May 8, at New Horizons in the Nocatee Elementary School cafeteria beginning at 9:00 am.

We will celebrate our teachers and staff for all of their dedication and service to students the week of May 4. Please remember to thank your child’s teachers when you visit the classrooms that week.

On Thursday, May 14, we will have our monthly Boosters meeting at DECC in the cafeteria starting at 5:00. The students look great in their new bulldog t-shirts. Thank you Boosters for all the work you put in to get those to our students. If you have a shirt, remember to wear it each Friday to show your school spirit!

On Tuesday, May 19, the Bullfrogs and Birds will be traveling to the Environmental Learning Lab. The Butterflies and Bunnies will go on Thursday, May 21. More information regarding these trips will be sent home by your child’s teacher in the coming weeks.

On Monday, May 25, there will be No School. School will be closed in honor of Memorial Day.
