Dear Parents and Students,

We had our 100th day of school last week and our students and teachers celebrated in many ways! I saw hats, writing activities, math activities, you name it, they did it in celebration of this day! Thank you if you participated in any way to make this day a success!

We are winding down our Krispy Kreme fundraiser this week. Thank you to all who took the time to help us sell donuts! The proceeds from this fundraiser will help provide some much needed resources for our students. All orders should be turned in to your child’s teacher by Monday, February 1. If you are available and are able to help with the distribution of the orders on Friday, February 12, please contact your child’s teacher with your name and phone number. Your help is much needed and appreciated!

On Thursday, February 11, we will have our monthly Booster meeting in the cafeteria at DECC starting at 5:00 p.m. All parents are asked to come out and participate.

Please remember to bring in a “winter” set of clothes for your child if you have not done so already. Also, some of our students are losing or misplacing their clothing. It would help us out a lot if you would put your child’s name on all of his/her personal belongings. That would include jackets, extra clothes, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. Having items labeled will help us identify them easily and decrease the likelihood of someone taking home someone else’s property by accident.

Important Dates: Mark your calendars!

·         February 5- New Horizons to the Public Library and Jim Space for Lunch. Leaving at 9:00 A.M. and Returning at 1:00 P.M.

·         February 11- Booster Meeting at DECC at 5:00

·         February 15 (Presidents’ Day, No School)

·         February 24 - Early Release, students will be dismissed at Noon

Thank you,

Phyllis Clemons, Principal
